I feel like we should have some sort of discussion about the amount of OOC talk/IC talk that's been going on. I realize that we're an awesome community and are filled with people that make it that way, but lately it's starting to seem less like we're being the characters, are more idle OOC chatter.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with this anywhere else, but when you've got about 60% OOC chatter in the main chat, it starts to feel like you're not really being that alien Troll with their respective personalities, since people are regularly exposed to our actual sides.
But I'm starting this not as a "STOP DAT YOU GUYS", but as a discussion on if this is something we should be falling into habits of.
So! What are your opinions on this?

I think we should put up a link to the 4th wall livestream popout. People seem to forget that that chat exists, but we can still use the livestream popout to talk. And it also won't be as laggy as chatango.

I'm not sure it's possible to take the good version of Livestreams chat and embed it on a separate website. I think I tried it before and it wouldn't even let you log in if you were a moderator, along with some issues with it breaking the old web page.

I suppose this is true and I've been gradually realising this is becoming commonplace when people come in they greet you personally with a (Hello!) instead of a uHH, hELLO like you'd expect. [this was an example]
I like CG's suggestion as a more permanent solution other than discouraging ooc chatter. well, i'd still suggest that as an option. just a (take ooc talk to ooc talk box please) message should do.
so just direct it elsewhere, and allow people to talk to their little grey alien folk in the main box
EDIT: how about linking to the fourth wall Chatango from that little top bar that links everywhere on the hub?

We used to have a separate fourth wall chat just below the stream, but then nobody talked in character for a few days and I had to take it down.
My suggestion is just, when you think you have no other option but to ask OOC, do so, but when it's idle chatter and the like that relate to you personally, keep it to yourself in most cases.
Then again, I could just re-add the fourth wall chat.

I thought it was removed due to complaint of lag. I didn't realise that no one spoke in character due to it being there.
I do find talking to some of you guys personally is fun, but when it's all meta and people who are in character get swept away by parenthesis, it's not fun anymore : (

We also have that steam group, which could be used for OOC stuff.

The Fourth Wall DOES still exist.
I say we put it back.
Why not just put it back under the chat?
I agree wholly and completely that there's been too much OOC, until just recently there has hardly been ANY. Only since we started having ONE stream to go to, in fact, OOC jumped up way high.
But having The Fourth Wall helped.
Also, I suggest we just STOP BEING OOC SO MUCH.
Seriously, we can still be OOC like usual, but WE, as the canon characters, should try to break that as often as possible.

I agree.
If WE, personally, are going to be OOC, I say we do it HERE in the forums or recommend anyone wanting to talk to us OOC to do it personally, in Steam or PC.

I'm perfectly okay with not talking OOC. I really try not to start anything, and sometimes get sucked in when everyone else is doing it. So, yeah, I guess my only suggestion is to really break it like a bad habit.

I agree with vriska. Perhaps we should simply avoid all OOC chat as much as possible while on Pesterchum or the Stream. However, we can use steam and other other messaging clients to act OOC.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree on it can tend to get a little too OOC. We do have the forum for it still, and maybe it would be best to keep it to just that. The fourth wall might work too, if it's really necessary, but I wouldn't encourage that.

Well if I'm going to OOC anywhere, it's going to be on steam. I actually wanted to use steam just for OOC when I was outside of a game, but that didn't last long. :V

I agree with Neo/Vriska. We should really cut it out, they want a show with the canon characters, it get's a little silly when everybody starts talking OOC. I've been noticing the increase in OOC chat as well, and as Jade has said steam is a very nice place to get some OOC chatting done! So I'm gonna cut it out too, and get my IC chat back on.
